Girvin's team worked closely with Scott Oki and the programming team at the Washington Policy Center to build a website that bridged Oki's strategic content for his book "Outrageous Learning", his tactical planning, implementations of forum and community discussions, as well as touring presentations, to a site that distinctly merged the educational and potential-building messages of the Outrageous Learning program.
While the nature of the book design for Oki's book is complexly detailed, the structuring of the site -- and programming modeling -- is simplified; Girvin's framing kept the messaging visuals restrained, matching the brand intention, and directed content.
The formatting, based on this simplification, created an easy navigation and purchase proposition -- as well as forums, Kindle and interactive dialogue and shopping carts. The look and feel is integrated across the publishing field, Oki's presentations and all merchandising.
Girvin's role, as design director for the entire program -- from the beginning brand development -- to the later outcomes in the site design, focuses on thorough management of the messaging and strategic communications of Scott Oki's vibrant and powerful inspirations, strategies and tactical approaches for finding solutions.
