Vulcan Real Estate and Schnitzer Northwest commissioned Girvin to develop a brand positioning and name development program for a grouping of four buildings in the South Lake Union area of Seattle, averaging more than 100,000 square feet each. Vulcan Real Estate directs all real estate strategies for Vulcan Inc., a Paul G. Allen company. Schnitzer, their partner, is one of the largest developers in the states of Washington and Oregon, founded by the Schnitzer family of Portland, Oregon.
Girvin studied the market, during a time when this grouping of locations was under examination and purchase by Paul Allen. All planned buildings are life sciences in orientation, the South end of Lake Union property groupings represent blocks and blocks of development. Girvin named the Interurban Exchange, as well as created all the marketing collateral for the projects.
