What of creating environments that combine working experiences that conjoin site realism, entertainment and food?
Papiota: the sewing café/shop

If you contemplate the idea
of threading and interlacing concepts –
– and the symbolism of sewing, threading, weaving,
string-thinking, patterning –
– linking sewing and pattern making,
the trimming of cut shapes,
lain to fabric, reassembled as
form-fitting ideations, this idea —
Café Papiota, [“turn of color,” in Romanian]
as a place-making composite, makes sense.
Romania is offering a lot of new “work bars.”
Bars and food service concepts that are made for people to experience other working shops –
– garages, workshops, manufacturing.
The point to the idea is the “entertainment” of being somewhere else than yet another “café,” we talked earlier about the Starbuck’s international design team and Liz Muller’s new “bank” for Starbucks, shown here.
Bowling alleys, garages, old working lofts [with evidence] — all point to the idea of re-use of extant working environments, reset [sewing machines, for example] to new utilizations. Go there, and conceivably, step into another world.
That might be considered the core of altering experience design — powerful enough to take the experiencer of the here & now world, to someplace new; the founders of “Spool” talk about it,
their site overview, roughly and quickly translated: “Fortunately for Old Town, there are bars made with good taste and imagination. So, no escape / rescue. One of the most original bars in Old Town is, undoubtedly, workshop . As I said when I discovered, we would like to open as many places like that can really be compared with those in Berlin. And they began to appear.
On Lipscani at number 43, a logo with a sewing machine caught our attention, by the name: spool. True, at first it was not stuffing into account, considering that before the area was full of tailors with similar names. We went on the 1st floor of the building and found another place in workshop style.The comparison is inevitable, nay, more, we venture to say that the spool is for girls or female version of workshop – boys drink a beer in one tool and machine shop and shot girls give a thimble of strength in the spool.
Everything from the front door, up the menu, is immersed in ostalgie, with attention to detail. “
