In the Spring of 2012, the Seattle Humane Society (The Humane Society for Seattle King County) selected GIRVIN as their branding and design partner to help review and refresh their brand in advance of a major capital campaign. To kick off these efforts, GIRVIN performed a brand audit which included an online survey to help Seattle Humane and its Board of Directors gain a more complete understanding of the public’s existing perception of them. Insights gained in the audit allowed us to revisit and shorten the brand name, while maintaining brand equity and communicating the general geographic region of the organization. The final name was shortened to a simpler, Seattle Humane.
We then rebuilt and strengthened the brand identity and selected new, brighter colors to better reflect the organization’s brand attributes; a fun and happy place with a good reputation, where pets’ lives are saved and loving homes are found for them. GIRVIN’s design team extended the new brand look and feel to the capital campaign and marketing materials for both internal and external uses. These included the organization’s announcements, website, business papers, brochure, newsletter templates, flyers, vehicle wraps and brand style guide.
“Tim Girvin and his passionate team of animal lovers created a happy, colorful new brand identity for Seattle Humane that reflects our core mission of saving animals’ lives and completing families. We bring joy to the lives of people and pets, and we can’t thank the GIRVIN team enough for capturing that spirit in our new brand.”
